What is decorative beans and the purpose of its cultivation
Beans were brought to European countries only in the 15th century, and at first absolutely all types were considered decorative, they were not used as food.
The varieties used to plant for the decoration of the garden in modern times are distinguished by a thick flowering cover and a special, beautiful flowering that can be colored. They apply to create a green hedge or artistic elements.
Plants are grown as annuals. Seedlings grow rapidly, forming long branchy vines. There are also spray patterns. In autumn, like other beans, pods ripen on the branches. Their colors are directly dependent on the varietal characteristics.
Is it possible to eat decorative beans?
Despite the name, this representative legumes can be eaten. In Russia, the plant is most often grown for beauty, but in many other countries its fruits are eaten, like in ordinary, classical varieties.

Correct fit
Planting beans can be seedling method, but there is no special need for this. Planting in open ground is made from mid-May to early June.
Seeds are soaked for a day in water, and then placed in the soil at a depth of 1 centimeter. The method consists in digging holes at a distance of 40-45 cm, which must be carefully watered. In them 2-3 seed descends at once.
Harvesting seedlings in greenhouse conditions occurs in the middle of April at a temperature of from 18 to 22 degrees above zero. Each sprout needs a separate pot. If it is already too stretched out, and transfer to the site is not yet carried out, then additional support is provided to the plant.
Care
Heat-loving landing need keep away from frost. At cold temperatures, crops are carefully warmed with a film or other material. They also need spud and set direction.
A favorable condition is the presence of light, fertile land, with sufficient moisture and light. Beans require good watering, especially in the heat. It is desirable to mulch the surface at the roots with sawdust or straw: this is how long the moisture remains.
All organic fertilizers are suitable for this crop, excluding fresh manure.

Decorative beans are a great tool for vertical gardening used in design. It is used to decorate hedges, fences, arbors. Plant used in creating arches, colorful pergolas.
